King's Gauntlet
This many-storied tower is the King’s personal challenge to MouseHunters everywhere: anyone who can reach the top is among the kingdom’s elite. The King’s Gauntlet works on a tier system, with Hunters advancing to the next floor by hunting with cheese that they collect on the current floor. The Gauntlet is meant as a challenge for hunters of all skill levels, but in order to ascend to the very top, a Hero’s rank will come in handy.
Description and Requirements
King's Gauntlet is a location in the Valour region requiring a minimum rank of Initiate and the King's Gauntlet Floorplan to enter. Mice in this location may steal points or gold (but not multiple pieces of cheese) if not captured.
The Gauntlet consists of eight tiers (also referred to as "floors" or "levels"). At each tier, hunters collect potions that imbue cheese capable of attracting mice on the next tier. Hunters need not actually travel between floors, but simply equip the cheese for for the tier they wish to hunt on.

King's Gauntlet Mice
This section summarizes the information hunters need to know about Gauntlet mice:
- Theme: Each floor's mice are organized according to a thematic element. While this has no bearing on hunting, it can help hunters easily remember which floor a mouse can be found on.
- Bait preference: Mice on floors 2-8 require tier-specific cheese for successful hunts.
- Primary power type weakness: The mice on each floor are especially weak to a given trap power type, although this may not be the only power type that any tier of mice is vulnerable to.
- Loot: Every mouse breed on floors 1-7 is known to drop the potions required to hunt at the next tier.
Additionally, all mice in the Gauntlet are in the Gauntlet Gladiators mouse group. The point and gold values are listed below by tier; these increase at each floor.

Hunting Strategy
In the King's Gauntlet, unlike in other regions, a hunter does not need to travel to change the mice they are attempting to catch. All a hunter must do is equip the appropriate cheese for the tier they wish to go after. The mice on each tier have a differing difficulty and different weaknesses, and the best hunting strategy may not always be clear. Progress to more difficult levels of the King's Gauntlet requires the use of special cheese, acquired through the use of potions dropped as loot in this location.
A trap's Luck is known to increase the chance of captured mice dropping loot, including the potions vital to progress through the King's Gauntlet. Because mice in early tiers are quite weak, hunters may wish to consider using high-Luck setups that are not of the power type most effective on a tier.
Hunting tips by Larry
Why hello, Mousehunter! It looks like we’ll be ascending the King’s Gauntlet together!
Hunters have flocked in from all over the land to face the terrors, the wonders, and the challenges of the King’s Gauntlet. If you can make it to the top of this tall, tall tower, you will gain lots of loot, and you will be able to count yourself among the land’s elite.
Every Hunter starts on floor one, using any bait they wish. From then on, Hunters progress to the next floor by using potions collected on the previous floor to make special cheeses. There is no need to travel—just equip the right cheese to move to the next floor!
On each floor, the mice are weak to a different power type. If you get confused, the cheese descriptions may lend a hand. The further you go up the Gauntlet, the more difficult, and profitable, the mice become. Can you make it all the way to the top, and defeat the mysterious Eclipse Mouse?
Good luck, MouseHunter, and don’t get tired on the stairs!
