Fear, Darkness and Mist Curses Minigame
Hunting Tips by Larry
The mechanism for this minigame is similar to that of the Lost City's Lost Curse Minigame. However, there are three different curses to dispel in this location: the Fear, Darkness and Mist Curses. To dispel these curses, a hunter needs to catch mice while having the Bravery, Shine and Clarity charms equipped.
+
You're going to need a lot of Graveblossom Camembert here. The mice in these crypts don't seem to like anything else! Plus, any other cheese just doesn't feel... appropriate here in this world.

Upon catching a mouse with any of the 3 charms armed, the following message is displayed in the Hunter's Journal:
+
This city is heavily cursed, with not one, not two, but three separate curses! You'll need to purchase and use three charms to dispel the curses here, one charm for each curse. And beware, should the Corrupt Mouse show, all three curses will be renewed!
:The power of my X Charm dispelled the Y Curse, banishing the mists from the Cursed City!<br/>I should unequip my X Charms and save them for later.

After all three curses have been dispelled, the Essence Guardian Mouse can be attracted.  Additionally, when all three charms have been successfully used, it will prevent the Corrupt mouse from being attracted for the next three hunts, but only when the Shattering Charm is not armed.
+
The reward is more than worth it though, as with all three curses lifted, the Essence Guardian mouse can be attracted to your trap, and they carry Garden Essences more reliably than any other mouse here.

The minigame will end once the hunter attracts a Corrupt Mouse, whether or not it is caught.  At that point the following message will be displayed:
+
While you're here, be sure to collect Plumepearl Herbs so you can use it to create more advanced cheese to keep hunting with!
:The terrible power of the Corrupt Mouse re-ignited all of the curses in the Cursed City!

When the curses have been lifted, a hunter can arm a Shattering Charm to change the population to just Corrupt and Dark Magi mice, instead of the normal pursuit of Essence Guardians.

So this is what happened to the Lost City! It's become deeply cursed, with terrible and powerful mice living within and taking the safety of everyone around them into their own careless hands!

Overview

Cursed City is a hunting location in Sandtail Desert region.

Living Garden, Lost City, Sand Dunes, Twisted Garden, Cursed City, and Sand Crypts are 6 connected hunting locations, forming the Living Garden complex.

They require the minimum rank of Baron/Baroness and the Living Garden Key to access.

Cursed City can only be traveled to when the Hunter's map is in Twisted state.

Normal World and Twisted World

At a time, among 6 hunting locations in the Living Garden complex, only 3 can be traveled to. This depends on whether the Hunter's map is in Normal or Twisted state:

The map state can be changed from Normal to Twisted by:

Doing so will generate a journal entry:
On catching Carmine the Apothecary, a light flashes and a spell she had prepared in advance erupts! Nightmarish tendrils of dark smoke burst from the ground around me, and before I knew it the world had changed before my very eyes into a wild and twisted version of itself.
I can feel this world itself attempting to reject me and send me back, but I must stay as long as I am able to find out what Carmine is doing in this hidden, dark place.

The map state can be changed from Twisted to Normal by either:

Doing any of the actions above will generate a journal entry:
Almost as if an illusion suddenly shattered, the world around me snaps back to normal. Using X Cheese has brought me back to the normal world.

The Living Garden Sequence

In the Living Garden complex, the Hunter follows 6 main steps in sequence.
Step 5a can be done in Cursed City.

Step Location Cheese Used Loot To Obtain
1 Living Garden Standard Cheese Dewthief Petal Dewthief Camembert
2a Lost City Dewthief Camembert Dreamfluff Herbs Duskshade Camembert

Fear, Darkness, and Mist Curses Minigame

In Cursed City, the Curses mechanics are in effect:

 • There are 3 Curses in this location: Fear, Darkness, and Mist
 • Each curse status can be Active or Lifted.
 • The status of each Curse is Active when the Hunter visits Cursed City for the first time.
 • The state can be changed from Active to Lifted by catching a mouse with the proper Charm armed:
 • Lifting all 3 Curses will remove Corrupt Mouse from attraction pool in the next 3 hunts in Cursed City.
When the effect activates, it generates a journal entry:
The power of my [Charm] dispelled the [Curse], banishing the mists from the Cursed City!
I should unequip my [Charms] and save them for later.
 • The status of all 3 Curses will be changed to Active upon encountering Corrupt Mouse.
When the effect activates, it generates a journal entry:
The terrible power of the Corrupt Mouse re-ignited all of the curses in the Cursed City!

The Hunter can arm Safeguard Charm to avoid encountering the Corrupt Mouse.

Heads-Up Display

The Hunter can access and track the following in the HUD:
