Named by the tribes, this dangerous jungle is home to some of the most terrifying mice ever discovered. Long ago the leaders of the tribes discovered a spicy cheese made with peppers capable of distracting the mighty beasts of the jungle. This peppered bait may be the key to luring these mice to a trap...

Overview

The Jungle of Dread is a location in the Tribal Isles region requiring a minimum rank of Hero and the Ocean Navigation Kit to enter.
Mice in this location may steal points or gold, but not multiple pieces of cheese, if not captured.

Hunters who are washed out of Balack's Cove by the High Tide will be moved to the Jungle of Dread.

Hunting with Havarti Cheese

Hunters must acquire Pepper Seeds from the mice in the Derr Dunes, Elub Shore, and Nerg Plains in order to craft the Havarti Cheeses required to catch most mice in the Jungle of Dread.
Hunting with Havarti Cheeses will reward Hunters with items necessary for crafting the Ancient Box Trap. Mice will also drop Fire Salt, which is required for crafting the Inferno Havarti Cheese necessary for attracting mice in Dracano.

Hunting with other cheeses

Hunting in the Jungle of Dread with Gouda Cheese or SUPER|brie+ allows Hunters to attract the Pygmy Wrangler and Swarm of Pygmy Mice which drop Vanilla Beans used in crafting Vanilla Stilton and Vengeful Vanilla Stilton required to attract the mice found in Balack's Cove.

Ocean Navigation Kit

The Ocean Navigation Kit grants hunters access to the Tribal Isles region. It can be crafted using the following formula:

Jungle of Dread Mice - Other Cheeses

Hunters will need to acquire Vanilla Beans in order to craft Vanilla Stilton and Vengeful Vanilla Stilton for use in Balack's Cove
Because Hunters who are washed out of Balack's Cove by the High Tide are moved to the Jungle of Dread, these mice will be attracted to the two Stilton cheeses.

Cheese Preference and Loot

Standard Cheese (except Gouda Cheese and SUPER|brie+) attracts only the Sylvan Mouse, which is primarily weak to Tactical weapons, though several other Power Types are also effective.
Gouda Cheese will attract the Sylvan Mouse, Pygmy Wrangler Mouse and Swarm of Pygmy Mice. The latter two mice are weak to Shadow weapons.
SUPER|brie+, Vanilla Stilton Cheese and Vengeful Vanilla Stilton Cheese will attract the Pygmy Wrangler Mouse and Swarm of Pygmy Mice, but the usage of the latter two cheeses is discouraged since both require Vanilla Beans to craft.

Traps

• The Dreaded Totem Trap is a limited edition Shadow trap that adds 8,500 power while in Jungle of Dread.
• The Cackle Lantern Trap is a limited edition Shadow trap that occasionally increases Fire Salt drops when hunting in the Jungle of Dread. The effect stacks with the effect of Cackle Charms.

Charms

• The Cackle Charm increases the drop rate of Fire Salt when hunting in the Jungle of Dread. The effect stacks with the effect of the Cackle Lantern Trap.
• The Dreaded Charm provides a 300% power bonus when used in the Jungle of Dread.

Hunters can Defeat the Dreaded Horde by catching each of The Dreaded Horde mice in the Jungle of Dread.

Hunters can complete steps to Slay the Dragon Mouse by gathering Fire Salt in the Jungle of Dread.

Hunters can complete steps to Defeat Balack the Banished by gathering Vanilla Beans in the Jungle of Dread.

• M400 Bait Research Assignment - This assignment may require Hunters to track down specific items from Jungle of Dread mice in order to complete it.
• M400 Hunting Research Assignment - This assignment may require collecting 1 Piece of M400 Intel from mice in the Jungle of Dread and/or capture the M400.
