The mice that live in this garden use the environment to their advantage, fashioning crude armour and weapons from plantlife in order to protect and hoard all the Garden Essences they can find. |
Overview
Twisted Garden is a hunting location in Sandtail Desert region.
Living Garden, Lost City, Sand Dunes, Twisted Garden, Cursed City, and Sand Crypts are 6 connected hunting locations, forming the Living Garden complex.
They require the minimum rank of Baron/Baroness and the Living Garden Key to access.
Twisted Garden can only be traveled to when the Hunter's map is in Twisted state.
Normal World and Twisted World
At a time, among 6 hunting locations in the Living Garden complex, only 3 can be traveled to. This depends on whether the Hunter's map is in Normal or Twisted state:
- Normal state: Living Garden, Lost City, and Sand Dunes are accessible
- Twisted state: Twisted Garden, Cursed City, and Sand Crypts are accessible
The map state can be changed from Normal to Twisted by:
- Catching a Carmine the Apothecary in Living Garden
- Doing so will generate a journal entry:
- On catching Carmine the Apothecary, a light flashes and a spell she had prepared in advance erupts! Nightmarish tendrils of dark smoke burst from the ground around me, and before I knew it the world had changed before my very eyes into a wild and twisted version of itself.
- I can feel this world itself attempting to reject me and send me back, but I must stay as long as I am able to find out what Carmine is doing in this hidden, dark place.
The map state can be changed from Twisted to Normal by either:
- Using any cheese other than Duskshade Camembert or Lunaria Camembert in Twisted Garden
- Using any cheese other than Graveblossom Camembert in Cursed City
- Using any cheese other than Graveblossom Camembert in Sand Crypts
- Doing any of the actions above will generate a journal entry:
- Almost as if an illusion suddenly shattered, the world around me snaps back to normal. Using X Cheese has brought me back to the normal world.
The Living Garden Sequence
In the Living Garden complex, the Hunter follows 6 main steps in sequence.
Step 4 and 6 can be done in Twisted Garden.
Red and Yellow Dewdrop Minigame
In Twisted Garden, the Red and Yellow Dewdrop mechanics are in effect:
- Using special Charms makes mice drop Red Dewdrop and Yellow Dewdrop:
- Red Sponge Charm makes mice drop 1 Red Dewdrop per catch.
- Red Double Sponge Charm makes mice drop 2 Red Dewdrops per catch.
- Yellow Sponge Charm makes mice drop 1 Yellow Dewdrop per catch.
- Yellow Double Sponge Charm makes mice drop 2 Yellow Dewdrops per catch.
- Red Dewdrop and Yellow Dewdrop can be collected up to a maximum of 10 each. At 10 each, sponge charms will not make mice drop any of either dewdrops.
- Pouring will consume all Red Dewdrops and Yellow Dewdrops and change the state to Poured for a number of hunts.
- This state provides a stats bonus:
- 5% Power Bonus if at least 1 Red Dewdrop is used
- 5 Luck if at least 1 Yellow Dewdrop is used
- In Poured state, Dehydrated Mouse can be attracted using Duskshade Camembert.
- In Poured state,
- Red Sponge Charm and Red Double Sponge Charm will not make mice drop Red Dewdrop
- Yellow Sponge Charm and Yellow Double Sponge Charm will not make mice drop Yellow Dewdrop
- The number of hunts depends on the number of Red and Yellow Dewdrops poured based on the following table:
- This state provides a stats bonus:

Finishing collecting 10 Red Dewdrops generates a journal entry:
- I've filled up on Red Dewdrops. Time to switch to Yellow Sponge Charms or pour them out and start attracting Dehydrated Mice!
Finishing collecting 10 Yellow Dewdrops generates a journal entry:
- I've filled up on Yellow Dewdrops. Time to switch to Red Sponge Charms or pour them out and start attracting Dehydrated Mice!
Pouring generates a journal entry:
- I combined Red and Yellow Dewdrops, creating an orange mixture that grants me extra power and luck! Spreading it out on the ground will start attracting some very thirsty mice for the next X hunts!
- I should unequip my Sponge Charms and save them for later.
When the hunts run out and state switches back from Poured to normal, a journal entry is generated:
- With the ground now dry, the Dehydrated mice have retreated.
Heads-Up Display
The Hunter can access and track the following in the HUD:
- Red and Yellow Dewdrop Minigame
- The number of Dewdrop is displayed.
- There is a Pour button, which the Hunter can click to switch state to Poured.
- Clicking it will pop out a confirmation message:
- Are you sure you want to pour out your collected Dewdrops?
- If you do, you'll attract some very thirsty mice for 0 hunt!
- Click Cancel to cancel
- Click Confirm to switch state
- Clicking it will pop out a confirmation message:
Mice
All mice found in Twisted Garden are part of the Living Garden Mice group.
Only Hydro power type is effective against the mice here.
Duskshade Camembert can attract all mice except Twisted Carmine and Shattered Carmine which requires Lunaria Camembert. Shattered Carmine also requires arming a Shattering Charm.
Dehydrated Mouse can only be attracted in Poured state.
Most mice here can drop Graveblossom Petal which can be used to purchase Graveblossom Camembert to hunt in Cursed City and Sand Crypts.

Hunting Strategy
Hunting Tips by Larry
Good gracious! All the tiny, adorable, armour-laden mice from the Living Garden have become fused, twisted versions of themselves! I... I don't even know what to say!
I suppose I'll say this, hunter: Be careful! While it looks like they have more Garden Essence than ever before, they're definitely more powerful as well!
It looks like the mice here still hoard moisture just as jealously as before, but the water drops are curiously coloured! Buy Red and Yellow Sponge charms to procure Red and Yellow Dewdrops, then splash them on the ground to attract mice with even more Garden Essences. But pay attention to the drops you collect. The red ones seem to increase your power, while the yellow ones increase your luck. Perhaps collecting both of them will accomplish both of these? Only one way to find out...
Make sure you use your Duskshade Camembert here, hunter. The mice don't seem to enjoy any other cheese. Although perhaps you'll discover yet another cheese later on to help you attract very, very powerful and special mice!
