Tucked behind the dense trees of Whisker Woods is a quiet and peaceful clearing. In the center of the clearing is a glowing boulder with colourful fungi growing around it. The magic rock seems to draw mice near to it, as if empowering them.

Overview

The Calm Clearing is a location in the Whisker Woods region requiring a minimum rank of Journeyman and the Calm Clearing Map Piece to enter.
Mice in the Calm Clearing cannot steal gold, points, or extra cheese.
Mice in the Calm Clearing are primarily weak to Tactical weapons. Hydro, Physical, Arcane, Law, and Shadowweapons can also be used, though they may perform less well.

Mice

Almost all mice in this area are from the Forest Guild group and are primarily weak to Tactical weapons. The Black Widow and Dwarf mice are part of the Indigenous group and are weak to all Power Types.

Cheese Preference and Loot

Standard Cheese attracts most mice in the Calm Clearing.
Cherry Cheese is required to attract the Cherry Mouse.
SUPER|brie+ will attract all mice in the Calm Clearing, except the Cherry Mouse.

Mice with Special Requirements

Hunting Strategy

Hunters have several Trap Setup Options for the Calm Clearing. Hunters in the Calm Clearing are advised to use a trap comparable to or greater than the Swiss Army Mouse Trap to hunt successfully. Using a lesser trap could result in a net loss due to the thieving mice. The Forest Guild mice that abound in this location are particularly weak to tactical weapons, although physical, shadow, arcane or hydro weapons will also work without a penalty.

Cheese Usage

All standard cheese types can be used in this location. Hunters who wish to maximize their profits should use either Marble or Swiss. Alternatively, hunters can use Cheddar and use a Base that has a high attraction bonus such as the Wooden Base with Target. Hunters who wish to achieve Master rank quickly should use Brie or SUPER|brie+ cheese, which have better attraction rates. SUPER|brie+ cheese is necessary to attract the Foxy Mouse in this location, but it can be more easily caught in another location. Cherry Cheese is necessary to attract Cherry Mouse and is useful for other comparatively rare mice in this location. A hunter can also use the Dehydration Base to reduce the chance of baited cheese turning stale.

Adventure Book

Hunters can Survey the Calm Clearing by catching a Cyclops Mouse in the Calm Clearing to find a Great Gnarled Tree Map Piece.

Hunting tips by Larry

Welcome to Whisker Woods!

As a result of touching a glowing rock in the center of the clearing, the mice around here seem to have taken on characteristics from the surrounding wildlife. If you want to see more of the woods and their inhabitants, one particularly nasty Cyclops mouse may hold the key.

Shops

There are no shops available in the Calm Clearing. Shops for the Whisker Woods region can be found in the Great Gnarled Tree.
