The dunes are a harsh, barren wasteland where only the toughest of mice can survive. The Derr Tribe take advantage of their ability to survive and navigate in such a dangerous terrain as a defensive strength which allows them to maximize their offensive abilities. Use of a Physical trap is highly recommended when hunting for the Derr.

Overview

Derr Dunes is a location in the Tribal Isles region requiring a minimum rank of Legendary and the Ocean Navigation Kit to enter.
Mice in this location may steal points, gold, or multiple pieces of cheese if not captured.

Hunters must hunt with Standard Cheese or SUPER|brie+ in order to obtain Delicious Stones which are required for crafting Crunchy Cheese.
Crunchy Cheese is required to attract the mice that drop Red Pepper Seeds that are necessary for crafting the cheeses required to attract mice in the Jungle of Dread and Dracano.

Derr Dunes Mice

The mice found in Derr Dunes are weak to Physical weapons. The use of other Power Types should be avoided in this location.

Hunters will need to hunt with Crunchy Cheese in order to attract the mice that drop Red Pepper Seeds. Pepper Seeds are necessary for crafting the cheeses required in the Jungle of Dread and Dracano.

Cheese Preference and Loot

Standard Cheese attracts all mice in Derr Dunes, except the Derr Chieftain, Gladiator, Guardian, and Black Widow mice.
Gouda Cheese has the best attraction rate of the Standard Cheeses and it will not attract the Sylvan Mouse.
SUPER|brie+ is required to attract the Black Widow Mouse and attracts all other mice in Derr Chieftain, Gladiator, Guardian, and Sylvan mice.
Crunchy Cheese attracts the Derr Chieftain, Gladiator, and Guardian mice.

Mice with Special Requirements

• Relic Hunter Mouse – This mouse visits Derr Dunes on an irregular basis and is attracted to Standard Cheese and SUPER|brie+. Hunters must have an Ancient Relic in their inventory to attract this mouse. The Ancient Relic will be taken by the Relic Hunter Mouse in exchange for a Relic Hunter Scroll Case.
• M400 – This mouse will sometimes be available in Derr Dunes when Hunters are actively working an M400 Hunting Research Assignment. It is attracted only to Fusion Fondue which will not attract any other mice. It drops a wide variety of loot.

Hunters can complete steps to Defeat the Tribe Chieftains by using Crunchy Cheese in the Derr Dunes to catch the Derr Chieftain Mouse.

Hunters can complete steps to Defeat the Dreaded Horde and Slay the Dragon Mouse by locating the source of Red Pepper Seeds in the Derr Dunes.

Great Scott! What in the King's name are we doing here?

Members of the Derr tribe are ruthless, power-hungry war mongers. They topple even the most powerful of traps with ease, crippling hunters' courage and pillaging their gold. Hunting here is not for the faint of heart, but capturing a member of the Derr tribe does come with a handsome reward of gold.

You will need a powerful Physical Trap to hunt for Derr mice. If you are familiar with the Burroughs Region, perhaps you have discovered the secret research facility called Digby. The Trapsmith in Digby sells the powerful Digby DrillBot, which is a vital component in a strong Physical trap setup.

The mice of Derr trust no one, a trait that has made them very hard to trick into a trap. You'll find Gouda will attract a member of Derr towards a trap, but SUPER|brie+ is even more effective! The magical sparkle of SUPER|brie+ prevents mice from stealing more than a single piece at a time, a property that comes in handy here in the Derr Dunes, as the mice here tend to steal large amounts of cheese.

History and Trivia

The names of three locations in the Tribal Isles are roughly the tribes' colours backwards. Derr Dunes takes its name after the colour 'red', and the Derr tribe mice wear red clothing.
