Overview

The Forbidden Grove is a location in the Bristle Woods region requiring a minimum rank of Legendary and the Keeper's Candle to enter. In addition, the Forbidden Grove must be open for Hunters to access the location.
The Keeper's Candle can be acquired by capturing a Keeper Mouse in the Catacombs.
Mice in the Forbidden Grove may steal points, gold, or multiple pieces of cheese if not captured.

The Forbidden Grove acts as a gateway to the Acolyte Realm. Hunters may not entered the Acolyte Realm without first catching a Realm Ripper Mouse in the Forbidden Grove.

Open/Close Cycle

The Forbidden Grove is on a 20 hour cycle. It remains open for 16 hours, then closes for 4 hours. Hunters may not travel to the Forbidden Grove while it is closed.
When the Forbidden Grove is open, the Realm Ripper Mouse cannot be encountered unless the Hunter has a Realm Ripper Charm armed. This prevents Hunters from entering the Acolyte Realm.
When the Forbidden Grove closes, the Realm Ripper Mouse can be encountered and is the only mouse available. Capturing the Realm Ripper Mouse transports the Hunter to the Acolyte Realm and is the only way Hunters are able to enter the Acolyte Realm location.

Heads-Up Display

The HUD in the Forbidden Grove tracks the time remaining in the open/close cycle before the location closes. It also tracks the number of Runes and Runic Cheese in the Hunter's inventory.

Forbidden Grove Mice

The Forbidden Grove mice are a mix of mice from The Forgotten Mice, The Shadow Clan, and the Indigenous Mice groups.
Mice found in this location are primarily weak to Arcane and Shadow weapons, with a secondary weakness to Forgotten weapons. The Hunter's choice of cheese will determine which weapon to arm for best results.

Realm Ripper Mouse

The Realm Ripper Mouse is only available once the Forbidden Grove has closed unless the Hunter has a Realm Ripper Charm armed. It is also the only mouse that can be encountered once the Forbidden Grove closes.
Capturing a Realm Ripper Mouse transports the Hunter to the Acolyte Realm and is the only way Hunters can travel to that location.

Cheese Preference and Loot

Radioactive Blue Cheese, Rancid Radioactive Blue Cheese and Magical Rancid Radioactive Blue Cheese attracts the relatively weaker mice found in the Forbidden Grove. These mice are weakest to Shadow weapons.
Ancient Cheese attracts almost all mice in the Forbidden Grove. Arcane weapons are strongly recommended when hunting with Ancient Cheese.
Moon Cheese significantly reduces the mouse population in the Forbidden Grove.

Hunting Strategy

The Forbidden Grove is on a 20 hour cycle. It remains open for 16 hours, then closes for 4 hours. Hunters may not travel to the Forbidden Grove while it is closed.

Hunters will need to capture a Realm Ripper Mouse in the Forbidden Grove if they wish to enter the Acolyte Realm. The Realm Ripper Mouse is only available once the Forbidden Grove has closed. unless a Realm Ripper Charm is armed. If a Hunter's trap check occurs at the same time as the closing of the Forbidden Grove, the Realm Ripper Mouse can be attracted and caught on the trap check itself.

Mice found in this location are primarily weak to Arcane and Shadow weapons, with a secondary weakness to Forgotten weapons. The Hunter's choice of cheese will determine which weapon to arm for best results.

Hunting tips by Larry

Only the most capable MouseHunters make it to the Forbidden Grove! I'm impressed.

This area may look like a garden, but it is actually a giant trap designed to catch the powerful Acolyte mouse! Every few hours the massive stone gates close, sealing this area off from the Catacombs. When the gates close, a thick fog fills the grove and anyone still inside will be transported into the Acolyte Realm upon capturing a Realm Ripper Mouse.

The mice here are weak to Arcane traps and are highly attracted to Ancient Cheese. To make Ancient Cheese, combine three Stale cheese with six Ionized Salt. You can also add three Magic Essence to the same recipe to double the amount of cheese produced.

The mice within this grove are trying to reverse the effects of the portal to keep a two-way gate open at all times. Should they accomplish this goal, armies of mice will soon invade Gnawnia at the command of the evil Acolyte!

Be on the look out for magical runes dropped by the mice here. Runes are used to craft Runic cheese, which is the only cheese capable of attracting an Acolyte.

Remember that when the gates close, Realm Ripper mice will be in the grove. If you capture a Realm Ripper, you will be transported to the Acolyte Realm. Keep this fact in mind before leaving your trap for long periods of time.
