This treacherous environment only allows the toughest of mice to survive. Be warned: the Mountain is no place for the novice mouse hunter! |
Overview
The Mountain is a location in the Gnawnia region requiring a minimum rank of Journeyman/Journeywoman to enter.
Mice in the Mountain may steal points, gold, or cheese.
Hunters accessing the Mountain for the first time will only have access to Physical weapons, but the mice here have a weakness to all Power Types, except the Ninja Mouse which has a weakness only to Tactical and Physical weapons.
Introduction to Charms
Purchase a Charm Conduit from the Mountain Charm Shoppe.
The Mountain contains the only Charm Shoppe where Hunters can purchase the Charm Conduit, which allows the arming of Charms.
Smashing boulders and Crafting cheese
Hunters will arm charms to smash boulders to obtain Chedd-Ore Cheese which when armed, attracts mice which drop ingredients for Abominable Asiago.
HUD (Heads Up Display)
If the Hunter does not own a Charm Conduit yet, the following text is displayed:
- I say, HUZZAH, fellow hunter!
- I'm the foremost Gnawnian scholar in pioneering hunting technology! By merging a Charm Conduit into your trap, you'll be able to arm a new kind of item called charms!
- Charms let you boost your trap's power, luck, and do all sorts of things! You'll find new charms throughout Gnawnia, and your conduit will work everywhere.
Once the Hunter purchases the Charm Conduit from the Charm Shoppe, the HUD reflects the HP of boulders. All boulders have 2,500 HP. The current Charm armed is also displayed, with the amount of damage said Charm deals. Damage dealt is equivalent to the Power of the armed Charm.
The HUD tracks the following items:
- Hunter's inventory of Small Power Charms, Power Charms and Super Power Charms.
- Hunter's inventory of Brie, SUPER|brie+, Chedd-Ore Cheese and Abominable Asiago.
- Hunter's inventory of Faceted Sugar, Iced Curd and Magic Essence.
Hunters can directly arm or craft with any of the items tracked by the HUD.
Breaking Boulders
After purchasing a Charm Conduit from the Mountain Charm Shoppe for 0 gold, hunters can start to arm charms and break boulders. Hunting with Standard Cheeses in the Mountain will attract mice that drop Small Power Charms. Additionally, Charm Shoppes, King's Cart, Marketplace, Gifts or Events all over the kingdom can yield charms. All Charms can be armed after purchasing the Charm Conduit.
The main goal is to deal 2,500 damage to a boulder, which will yield a varying amount of Chedd-Ore Cheese. Damage dealt is determined by the Power stat of the Charm armed. Don't hesitate to use higher tiered Charms should you have access to them for quicker progress. Arming a Charm with 2,500 or more power will instantly break the boulder, rewarding Chedd-Ore Cheese in a single hunt.
Crafting Abominable Asiago
After Breaking boulders, arm the looted Chedd-Ore Cheese to attract Slope Swimmer Mice, Craggy Ore Mice and Mountain Mice. These 3 mice drop Faceted Sugar and Iced Curds which are used to craft Abominable Asiago to attract the Abominable Snow Mouse

SUPER|brie+ will add the Black Widow, Fog, Frosty Snow, Pebble and Silvertail to the mouse population in the Mountain.
Chedd-Ore Cheese will attract the Craggy Ore, Mountain Mouse and Slope Swimmer mice.
Abominable Asiago will attract the Abominable Snow Mouse.
Prospector's Charms increase the attraction rate of Gold, Diamond, and (with SUPER|brie+ armed) Silvertail mice.

Hunting tips by Larry
Welcome, Mousehunter! You're about to discover the stunning vistas and treacherous terrain of the glorious Gnawnian Mountain! Home to Moustachio the Charmer, he has come up with these clever trinkets called charms that you can use to bolster your trap in many different ways. Don't forget to visit the Charm Shoppe to pick up your very own Charm Conduit to be able to use these new charms.
The Gold and Diamond mice found here are worth a handsome amount of gold and points. Extra income means that you may now be able to afford more expensive cheeses and more powerful traps. Don’t be afraid to upgrade your trap at the Trapsmith or purchase some more expensive cheese if you have problems attracting or catching mice. You’ve earned it!
Now, be careful while exploring the Mountain. Upon these rocky precipices lies excitement, danger and big boulders full of tasty Chedd-Ore Cheese deposits just waiting to be mined. Hunt mice in the area to gather up various types of Power Charms. Once equipped, the power released from the charms will vibrate the rock face and cause the boulders to crumble and shatter, revealing Chedd-Ore Cheese! Using this cheese will attract the harder-to-find mice which live within the Mountain itself. Capturing them will drop crafting items that can be used to lure out the large, mysterious Abominable Snow Mouse who lives high up on the Mountain! If you can find a way to capture him, he could lead you to the next prosperous area!
