Revision as of 15:13, 1 April 2024
Overview
The Cheese is the part of the trap set-up that attracts the mice. Cheese often has specific effects for certain areas, for certain mice, or for certain loot.
In some locations, failure to catch a mouse can result in that mouse stealing additional pieces of the currently baited cheese. The market price of cheese stolen tends to match the amount of gold typically stolen by that breed of mice. Mice are capable of stealing any of the "standard" cheeses, except SUPER|brie+, Moon, Mozzarella, and White Cheddar. In all locations, failure to attract a mouse may result in cheese going stale.
Obtaining Cheese
Cheese can be obtained in the following ways (not all cheeses are available via all methods):
- Purchased from Cheese Shoppes.
- Through crafting.
- Created using Potions.
- Obtained as loot.
- Through Donation.
- From other players through Give To Friends or Gifting.
- Purchased from the Marketplace.
Using Cheese
A hunter's cheeses appear in the Cheese Inventory tab. A hunter can select which cheese is armed from the inventory page, from the primary Camp page, and also from a Cheese Shoppe just after purchasing bait.
It is not possible to hunt without a cheese armed.
Cheese Table
Cheese Groups
Cheese is separated into 20 groups, usually based on where in the Kingdom it can be used. Hunters using the FreshCoat Layout will see their cheeses separated into these categories within their inventory.
Basic Bait
Basic Bait can be separated into two sub-groups: Standard Cheese and String Cheese. These subgroups are referred to throughout the Wiki, but are generally not used by the Devs in-game.
Standard Cheese
This is the term used throughout the Wiki to describe cheeses which can be used in most regions of the Kingdom with varying degrees of success. SUPER|brie+ often has separate attraction qualities, therefore it is listed separately from the other standard cheeses on many Location pages and is often listed separately on individual mouse pages.
The order shown below represents the basic attraction rate of Standard Cheeses from least to most attractive.
- Cheddar and White Cheddar
- Marble and Mozzarella
- Swiss
- Brie and Empowered Brie Cheese
- Gouda
- Ghoulgonzola Cheese and Candy Corn Cheese
- SUPER|brie+ and Empowered SUPER|brie+
Ghoulgonzola Cheese and Candy Corn Cheese were Halloween event cheeses but have been converted to Standard Cheeses by the devs.
Empowered Brie Cheese and Empowered SUPER|brie+ have the same attraction as their non-toxic counterparts, but add a 20% Power Bonus when armed.
Where the Wiki lists SUPER|brie+ as a preferred cheese, Empowered SUPER|brie+ will also attract the mouse, as the two baits are interchangeable when attracting mice.
String Cheese
This is the term used throughout the Wiki to describe cheeses which can be used in the Rift Plane areas with varying degrees of success. Please note that Standard String Cheese will also work against non Rift mice, but is not advised due to the cost and the fact it can be harder to obtain.
Standard String Cheeses
These cheeses are the Rift Plane equivalent of Standard Cheese and can be used in all Rift locations, though they may not represent the best hunting choice.
The order shown below represents the basic attraction rate of Basic String Cheeses from least to most attractive.

History and Trivia
- Prior to 28 September 2021, the Mobile App recipe tab included a permanently locked recipe for an unreleased NinjaBread Cheese with the following description:
- This mysterious cheese has yet to be seen anywhere in the Kingdom. Perhaps one day the King will discover how it's created...
